In few places in the world is this statement as true as in Sardinia. Cuisine is one of Sardinia&#8217;s most defining and distinctive traits, an aspect that goes beyond the delicacies prepared on the island and is woven into the folds of its history. In San Pietro, an island within an island, a place with a marvelous sea and a strong character, culinary tradition represents the identity and soul of the community. The Girotonno is its symbol. Every year, the original food festival showcases the &#8216;people, stories, and flavors of the tuna trade.&#8217; Carloforte, the island&#8217;s only inhabited center, showcases its fishing and culinary traditions at an international event that reflects a millennia-old culture, a tradition centered on tuna fisheries, tuna fishermen, and tuna fishermen.<\/em> A four-day program includes <em>live<\/em> <em>cooking<\/em> and delicious tastings of recipes from yesterday and today, presentations, and guided tours. Cuisine and creativity, flavor and entertainment: you&#8217;ll discover secrets, anecdotes, and curiosities revealed by the greatest protagonists of Italian cuisine. The <em>highlight<\/em> is the <em>International Tuna Competition<\/em> , a spectacular gastronomic competition between chefs from six countries \u2013 Italy, Israel, Greece, Palestine, Brazil and Japan \u2013 who are committed to enhancing the qualities of tuna with their art, presented in traditional recipes and in creative variations, raw and cooked. The dishes will be judged by two juries: one made up of journalists, experts, and <em>opinion leaders<\/em> , chaired by the famous television host Roberto Giacobbo, and one chosen from the public. At the <em>Tuna Food Village<\/em> , you can see (and learn) the art and culinary finesse of internationally renowned chefs and <em>resident chefs<\/em> as they take turns preparing dishes, commenting live, and offering the public a taste of their original creations. Agri-food specialties and artisanal products from Carloforte and all over the island are on display inside the <em>Expo village<\/em> . In the evening, the <em>live shows<\/em> take center stage, with concerts by Umberto Tozzi and Elettra Lamborghini and a show by Uccio De Santis. Taste, culture, and tradition, immersed in a breathtaking setting. Carloforte is a corner of Sulcis with a Ligurian flavour. Its landscape and historical characteristics are unique in Sardinia: of Tabarchina origin, it is closely linked to Genoa by historical and cultural ties.
